Manitoba in motion Awareness Survey

On behalf of Manitoba in motion, Prairie Research Associates conducted an awareness survey of in motion. This research involved a general population telephone survey with 800 Manitobans, 479 Winnipeg residents and 321 non-Winnipeg residents. Prairie Research Associates called about 8,474 residents over a three-week period in March 2011.

The name in motion is well known. Almost half of Manitobans (48%) report having heard of in motion based on the name alone, with is an increase from the 2008 results (40%).

Manitoba in motion Survey

A benchmark study conducted by researchers at the Health, Leisure and Human Performance Research Institute at the University of Manitoba was released on February 6, 2007. This benchmark in motion survey was undertaken to better understand how physically active Manitobans are now, and provides a baseline measurement of physical activity levels as compared to the minimum recommendations of Canada's Physical Activity Guide.

The study is unique because it incorporates all types of physical activity. Of the 6,500 adults and 1,618 children and teens sampled, participants were asked about their level of participation not just in sports or exercise, but in day-to-day activities such as chores and going places.
